Description | This poster was designed by Walter E Spradbery and published by the Underground group in 1914, a year after it took over the London General Omnibus Company and two years after horse buses were withdrawn. The fully mechanised fleet could operate over much longer routes, allowing the Underground group to offer a growing range of rural excursions. Posters promoting these services often appeared on the front panel of open-top vehicles, either side of the destination board. |
